Tokyo Yen Strengthens Against Dollar Amid Fed Policy Focus
The Tokyo yen strengthened against the US dollar in trading on April 4th. By 5:00 p.m., most trades had concluded, with the dollar-yen rate at 156.29-30, up 0.74 from the previous day's close.
However, morning trading saw little movement, with the pair fluctuating around 155.76 before weakening to a low of 155.30, matching the previous day's low. But it did not break below that level, recovering to the 155.90 range by mid-session.
The EUR/JPY rate also saw choppy trading, briefly dipping below the previous day's low of 180.53 but then recovering to the 181.30 range. The pair continued to oscillate around the 181 level throughout the session.
Market attention remains focused on views regarding the US Federal Reserve's monetary policy, with dollar-yen finding support in the low-155 range and persistent selling pressure capping the upside in the mid-156 range.
