Tom Lee Sees 2027 as 'Best Year' for US Stock Market Amid Reduced Uncertainty
Tom Lee, chairman of Bitmine Immersion Technologies and founder of Fundstrat, sees 2027 as one of the best years for the US stock market. He points to the removal of two major sources of uncertainty: the SpaceX unlock and the transition to a new Federal Reserve chairman.
Last week's liquidation of Situational Awareness hedge fund was a 'clearing event' that eliminated a forced seller, according to Lee. This moderation in inflation could reduce expectations for further rate hikes by the Fed.
Lee also reiterated his forecast for the S&P 500, which he expects to rebound to around 7,800 before experiencing a pullback, then finish the year above 8,000. He believes that if July's CPI report is similar to June's and August is muted, the bond market won't be pricing in rate hikes.
Lee also pointed out that crypto signals risk appetite, citing Ethereum's outperformance of the Nasdaq by around 2,500 basis points in July as a positive sign.
