Treasury Pushes Plans for Trump-Featured $250 Bill

The Trump administration has pushed for the creation of a $250 bill featuring President Donald Trump's portrait and signature, according to sources. This would mark the first time a living person has appeared on US currency in over 150 years.

Currently, federal law states that only deceased people can appear on United States currency. However, some Republicans in Congress are working to change this with legislation introduced by Rep. Joe Wilson of South Carolina.

The bill has 15 Republican cosponsors and would require a bipartisan majority of 60 votes for passage. If it passes, the Treasury Department would print the new $250 Federal Reserve notes featuring Trump's portrait and signature.

However, Democrats are expected to block the effort, and even if it passes, it would still have to be signed into law by President Trump.
