Truflation Data Suggests US Inflation May Be Near Fed Target

According to Truflation's real-time inflation data platform, US inflation rates for September 2026 were significantly lower than previously reported. At 2.33%, the current inflation rate is a stark contrast to the government's official figure of 3.4% from the Bureau of Labor Statistics.

The discrepancy between the two numbers stems from Truflation's use of millions of daily transaction prices, which provides a more accurate representation of inflationary pressures compared to the BLS's slower survey-based method.

With Truflation's data arriving about 41 days earlier than official numbers and gaining adoption among financial institutions, it suggests that inflation may be nearing the Federal Reserve's 2% target. This could signal less need for restrictive interest rate policies, which in turn would affect market expectations on rates, equity valuations, and bond yields.
