Trump Administration Seeks to Oust Federal Reserve Governor Lisa Cook
The Trump administration is moving forward with efforts to fire Federal Reserve Governor Lisa Cook, despite her previous victory in court.
Cook was nominated by President Joe Biden and has been fighting allegations of mortgage fraud made last August by Bill Pulte, the director of the Federal Housing Finance Agency.
The Supreme Court ruled in June that Cook could remain in her position while her lawsuit challenging her firing continues, but the Trump administration is appealing a lower-court ruling in her favor.
In a letter to Cook, White House aide Dan Scavino stated that President Donald Trump was 'considering removing you from your position,' citing the Supreme Court's requirement of proper notice. Cook has until August 26 to challenge the decision.
