President Donald Trump has spoken about his views on potential interest rate hikes by Federal Reserve Chair Kevin Warsh. When asked if he opposes Warsh's plan, Trump replied that he trusts his appointee and believes Warsh will do what needs to be done.

'I have a lot of respect for him, and he'll do what he has to do,' the president said in an Oval Office meeting with The Daily Signal on Monday. When asked about speaking to Warsh directly, Trump stated 'No.'

Trump expressed his thoughts on interest rates, saying 'We should have the lowest interest rates in the world' because other countries are paying less due to business ties with the US.

'They do business with us,' he explained. The president added that when the economy is doing well, the Fed shouldn't raise rates but rather lower them, as a stronger economy makes the country a better credit.
