Trump Bashes Fed Interest Rate Policy Again
President Donald Trump expressed frustration that the Federal Reserve isn't cutting interest rates, despite solid economic data. He claimed that the central bank should be adopting an easier policy stance, citing the strong economy as a reason for lower rates.
Trump accused Fed officials of having political motives, but excluded Chairman Kevin Warsh, who he nominated earlier this year. Warsh has been doing a 'great job' in his position since May, succeeding Jerome Powell whom Trump regularly criticized for not lowering rates faster.
The US Treasury Secretary, Bessent, mentioned that the buyback of bonds could be more than 4 billion dollars and stated that part of it is signaling. He also reported that there will be a fiscal announcement probably at the end of the week or the start of next week.
