President Donald Trump stated on Sunday that no country should have lower interest rates than the US. This comment comes ahead of the Federal Reserve's next policy meeting, scheduled for later this week.

The Fed has been monitoring inflation levels and has warned that rates may need to rise in order to combat elevated prices. According to Reuters, Treasury yields and expectations of future rate hikes have increased as a result.

Trump's comments on interest rates were made while he was speaking in Ireland, where he is currently on a visit. The President emphasized the importance of maintaining low interest rates in the US, stating that no other country should be able to do so.
