US President Donald Trump has expressed his discontent with the current exchange rate between the US dollar and the Canadian dollar, calling it 'unacceptable.' In a statement on Truth Social, he stated that Canada's currency imbalance with the US will no longer be tolerated.

The current exchange rate is around 72 cents per Canadian dollar, which benefits Canada's status as a net exporter. According to Statistics Canada, the country's trade surplus in July was $769 million. This means that Canadian businesses export more goods to their American counterparts than they import from them.

Trump's statement comes just two days before Canadian tariffs on US goods are set to take effect.
