Trump Endorses Warsh, Slams 'Very Political' Fed Board Members

President Donald Trump has endorsed Kevin Warsh to continue leading the Federal Reserve, calling him 'fantastic.'

However, Trump criticized other Fed board members as 'very political' and implied they are obstructing his preferred policy of lower interest rates.

'Warsh needs the consent of some people that have perhaps bad intentions,' Trump said, suggesting that these individuals are standing in the way of Warsh's efforts to move policy in a desired direction.

The current federal funds rate is between 3.5% and 3.75%, after a total reduction of 0.75 percentage points in the latter half of 2025.
