Trump Faults Fed After Interest Rate Decision
US President Donald Trump criticized the Federal Reserve for keeping interest rates unchanged. Speaking at the White House, he praised Governor Kevin Warsh but suggested that the board had prevented lower borrowing costs despite strong economic performance.
Trump claimed that the US economy was performing exceptionally well and attracting record levels of investment. He stated that the country had attracted $19.2 trillion in investment commitments over the past year, surpassing previous records set by China 13-14 years ago.
The President contrasted these figures with those from the previous administration, saying that they did less than $1 trillion in four years. Trump highlighted recent investments by manufacturers and technology companies, including a new car plant by Toyota, which he said was one of the largest in the world.
