Trump Seeks Rate Cuts as Gulf War Ends
US President Donald Trump expressed his hope for lower interest rates in the near future, citing recent inflation data as a positive sign. Trump stated that costs are falling rapidly and prices should drop significantly once the Gulf War ends.
In a statement on Monday, late in the North American session, Trump said 'For the first time' he believes rates should be lowered. He also praised Fed Chair Kevin Warsh, saying he has a board, and would do the right thing.
