Trump Slams Canada's Banking and Aviation Industries, Calls for Reduced US Dependence

U.S. President Donald Trump has once again expressed his grievances against Canada, this time targeting its banking and aviation industries.

In a press conference on Wednesday, Trump claimed that Canada has been imposing 'tremendous tariffs' on American farmers, taking advantage of U.S. tourists and airlines, and restricting the presence of U.S. banks in the country.

'They basically don't allow banks of America to be in Canada,' Trump said, adding that Canada has all its major banks operating in the United States, with Bank of Canada being one of them. 'We don't have our banks there. You know why? They don't allow it.'

The U.S. President also revisited a longstanding grievance over aviation certification, claiming that Canada has unfairly blocked sales of U.S.-made jets in the country.
