US President Donald Trump has taken aim at Canada's economy, calling the current 'dollar imbalance' between the two countries 'unacceptable'. In a series of posts on his Truth Social platform, he claimed that this situation has been ongoing for years but is now over.

The Canadian dollar currently trades for about 72 US cents, making its value CA$1.38 according to the Bank of Canada. This comes as Canada prepares to impose retaliatory tariffs on the US on Tuesday, escalating an already complicated and costly trade war.

Trump's comments follow his previous order to rename Lake Ontario to Lake America, which he claims has boosted business on the US side of the border. He shared a graphic listing various renamed US military bases, commercial products, and sports teams as examples of 'the Left' renaming things.
