Trump Sticks to His Guns on Low Interest Rates
US President Donald Trump has reiterated his call for lower interest rates, despite pressure from some quarters to raise borrowing costs. Speaking in Ireland on Sunday, where he is attending the Amgen Irish Open Golf Championship, Trump said that 'we should be paying...the United States is so strong...we should be paying the lowest interest rate in the world, regardless of their formulas.'
This comes as Kevin Warsh, Trump's handpicked chair for the Federal Reserve, faces renewed pressure to raise rates. However, Trump remains committed to his stance on low interest rates.
