US President Donald Trump has threatened to stop trading with countries that have a trade deficit with the United States if the Federal Reserve doesn't cut interest rates. In a social media post, he stated, 'We should have the LOWEST RATE of any country in the World ... LOWER THE RATE OR I’LL STOP TRADING WITH COUNTRIES WITH WHICH WE HAVE A DEFICIT.'

The Bureau of Labor Statistics reported stronger-than-expected job creation in August, which prompted traders to boost bets on a hike later this month. However, Trump has repeatedly demanded that the Fed cut rates, citing high interest rates as putting the US at an 'unfair disadvantage'. He has also claimed that he won't allow this situation to continue.

The President's statement comes as the Federal Reserve is set to meet later this month to discuss monetary policy. The outcome of this meeting will likely have significant implications for the global economy and financial markets.
