US President Donald Trump has launched another trade war, this time targeting Canada's economy. The tariffs on $20 billion worth of Canadian goods affect only about 5% of Canada's exports to the US.

Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney has refused to back down, choosing to defend his nation's honor even at a cost to his economy. In fact, over 75% of Canadians polled by Angus Reid want him to hold his ground despite the economic costs.

The conflict began with Trump's decision to impose tariffs on Canadian goods in response to Canada's alleged attempts to charge US farmers 'massive amounts' of tariffs. However, it has since escalated into a full-blown trade war, with Trump threatening 50% tariffs on vehicles and parts from Canada.

Some Republicans have expressed concern over the move, with former Vice President Mike Pence saying that American consumers would ultimately bear the brunt of the tariffs. Meanwhile, Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney has made it clear that his nation is not for sale.
