Trump vs. Canada: Trade Tensions Escalate Amid Rhetoric and Tariffs

The United States and Canada continue to be at odds over trade, with U.S. Ambassador Hoekstra urging Canadian politicians to tone down their rhetoric.

This comes as President Trump ramps up his criticism of Canada's economy, claiming that it is 'dying to make a deal' during an address at the RNC midterm convention in Dallas.

However, Poilievre, a Canadian politician who appeared alongside Hoekstra, pushed for co-operation between the two countries in reaching a trade deal.

Auto expert Ford says that the tariffs imposed on Canada are 'damaging the economics of a very integrated supply chain,' while Trump hopes to lose the midterms and has received calls from U.S. officials.
