President Donald Trump and Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney marked Labor Day on Monday with conflicting messages. Trump used the holiday to attack Democrats, while Carney focused on the trade dispute with the United States.

In a post to Truth Social, Trump attacked Democrats as 'Radical Left Lunatics' who are trying to destroy the country. He claimed that they should be exhausted from their efforts but are not giving up.

Trump also mentioned the upcoming midterm elections and predicted that Republicans would win big and save America.

In a written statement, Carney honored Canadian workers on Labor Day and celebrated the history of organized labor in Canada. He said that unions have made the economy stronger and fairer by fighting for better pay, safer workplaces, and benefits.

Carney tied this message to the tariff dispute with the United States, stating that Canada is expanding its construction projects to protect workers and businesses from the effects of the tariffs.
