Trump's Canada Conundrum: A Tariff War That May Harm U.S. Workers

A recent tirade by Donald Trump on Canada's Bombardier Aerospace may have unintended consequences for the U.S. economy and Republican politicians.

Bombardier, which employs over 1,000 workers in Wichita, Kansas, is a Canadian company that manufactures jet planes and does business with American companies and customers.

Trump's Truth Social post attacked Bombardier, saying 'NO MORE SELLING BOMBARDIER IN THE UNITED STATES!' and claiming the company 'lives off American Buyers' and 'American Companies.'

This stance has been met with criticism from local Republican politicians in Kansas, who are trying to distance themselves from Trump's comments.

Economist Chad Bown estimates that banning Bombardier sales would hurt tens of thousands of American workers in the company's supply chain.
