The dollar-yen pair traded weakly in Tokyo foreign exchange markets on June 19th, with prices falling from 159.64 yen to 159.29 yen.

President Trump's announcement that he would delay the implementation of 50% additional tariffs on Canada for three days triggered a decline in the dollar-Canadian dollar pair, which spread across major currencies and led to dollar selling gaining the upper hand.

The dollar-yen pair stood at 159.36-36 yen per dollar as of noon, representing a 36-sen decline from the 159.72-72 yen level recorded at 5 p.m. the previous day, reflecting a weaker dollar and stronger yen.
