Trump's Trade War with Canada Threatens US Economy
US President Donald Trump's trade war with Canada is causing harm to the US economy and auto industry, according to former U.S. Ambassador to Canada David Cohen.
Cohen stated that Canada is the second-largest trading partner of the US, providing essential goods such as aluminum, energy, and potash. He noted that 63% of American crude oil imports come from Canada, making it a critical component for the US economy.
The relationship between the two countries has been strained due to Trump's constant stream of insults towards Canadian officials and the military. Cohen emphasized that trying to find replacements for Canadian goods would be worse for American businesses, jobs, and GDP.
