TSX Ends Day with Mixed Results Amid Global Market Volatility
The Toronto Stock Exchange (TSX) saw mixed results on the day, with some stocks rising and others falling. The TSX Composite Index ended up 0.5% for the day.
Some of the biggest movers on the TSX included Enbridge (ENB-T), which rose by 0.98%, and TD Bank (T-T), which increased by 1.19%. On the other hand, Ivanhoe Mines (IVN-T) fell by 0.19%.
The S&P 500 also saw a slight increase of 0.05% for the day, while the Dow Jones Industrial Average rose by 0.46%. The NASDAQ composite index fell by 0.64%, however.
Oil prices dropped sharply, falling by 3.12% on the day. The value of the Canadian dollar also decreased slightly, losing 0.07% against the US dollar. Meanwhile, gold prices rose by 0.51% for the day.
