Futures linked to Canada's TSX index were largely unchanged Monday as investors assessed developments in the Middle East and prepared for key U.S. inflation data later this week.

The Toronto Stock Exchange's S&P/TSX composite index rose by 0.7% on Friday to a fresh record peak of 36,381.23, after averaging a 3.3% gain for the week, its largest weekly jump in four months.

Weaker-than-anticipated U.S. employment data last week fueled a decline in expectations that the Federal Reserve will hike interest rates in September, bolstering risk sentiment in the process.

Canada's jobs report was more positive, but this did not alter expectations that the Bank of Canada will stand pat on rates next month.
