TSX Futures Rise as Investors Eye US Inflation Data
Futures linked to Canada's main stock index ticked higher on Friday as investors awaited key U.S. inflation data that could influence the Federal Reserve's interest rate decision next week.
The S&P/TSX 60 index standard futures contract had gained 11 points, or 0.5%, by 07:03 ET (11:03 GMT).
This comes after a fourth straight daily decline in the S&P/TSX composite index, which fell by 1.1% to end at 35,506.28 on Thursday, its lowest closing level since July.
The market is expecting U.S. inflation data for August, with the headline consumer price index expected to remain steady at 3.4%, while core CPI is expected to ease slightly to 2.4%.
