TSX Sinks as Resource Sector and Consumer Staples Drag on Index

The TSX ended the week on a downward note, losing 280.33 points to close at 36,663.92.

This decline was largely due to issues in the resource sector, which bore the brunt of investor indifference.

Consumer staples were also affected, with Alimentation Couche-Tard experiencing a four-cent loss to $83.36 after announcing a voluntary tender offer for all shares of Polish convenience store chain Zabka at 32 zlotys each.
