U.S. Stocks Decline Ahead of Key Inflation Data Releases
U.S. stocks experienced a decline on Tuesday ahead of this week's key inflation data releases. The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 0.34% to 53,791.85, while the Nasdaq Composite dropped 0.60% to 26,445.45. The S&P 500 index also declined by 0.32%, closing at 7,728.20.
The decline in stocks was led by tech companies, with Apple and SpaceX experiencing losses of 1% and 3.9%, respectively. On the other hand, SK Hynix rose 4.7%. The Nasdaq Golden Dragon China Index closed down 2.95%.
Meanwhile, European markets showed mixed results, with Germany's DAX 30 index gaining 0.17% while France's CAC 40 declined by 0.13%. In Asia, Japan's Nikkei 225 rose 2.08%, and South Korea's KOSPI gained 0.73%.
The U.S. Consumer Price Index (CPI) for July will be released on Wednesday, followed by the Producer Price Index (PPI) on Thursday. Market participants are now turning their attention to these key inflation data releases, which may have a significant impact on the market.
