UCD Hosts European Economics Congress: Over 1,000 Delegates Converge on Dublin
The University College Dublin (UCD) is set to host the European Economics Congress, which will bring together over 1,000 delegates from six continents for five days of research, debate, and collaboration. The event, taking place from August 17th, marks the 77th European Meeting of the Econometric Society and the 41st meeting of the European Economic Association.
Leading academics, policymakers, and representatives from institutions such as the Central Bank of Ireland, Bank of England, and US Federal Reserve System will attend the conference. The programme features keynote lectures from world-renowned economists, along with a range of academic sessions.
A key focus of the programme is a high-level panel on 'Open Economy Resilience in a Changing World: The Case of Ireland'. This discussion will explore Ireland's recovery from the financial crisis and its challenges in a changing economic landscape. Other sessions will examine issues including monetary policy, AI, labour markets, inflation forecasting, and digital finance.
