Ueda Meets Bessent at G20 Finance Leaders' Gathering

Bank of Japan Governor Kazuo Ueda and US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent are believed to have met on the sidelines of the G20 finance leaders' gathering in Asheville, North Carolina. The meeting reportedly took place on Sunday.

The two officials were attending the two-day conference hosted by the US. Japanese public broadcaster NHK had previously reported that Bessent and Ueda did meet on Sunday, quoting a senior US Treasury Department official.
