UK Credit Unions Continue Growth with 2% Asset Increase
Credit Unions in the UK have continued to grow their assets and membership, according to the latest data from the Bank of England.
The total assets held by Credit Unions increased by nearly £100 million to £4.99 billion in 2025, a growth of 2% from the previous year.
This increase in assets is accompanied by a rise in membership, with 0.8% more people joining Credit Unions, bringing the total number of members to 2.29 million.
The data also shows that total income increased by 6.03% to £444.47 million in 2025, following growth of 29.14% in 2024.
