UK Economy Beats Expectations as Services Sector Drives Growth

The UK economy grew 0.4% in July, exceeding expectations, according to figures released by the Office for National Statistics.

This growth was driven primarily by the services sector, which saw a 0.4% increase, while production and construction experienced growth of 0.2% and 0.1%, respectively.

Iz McKeown, director of economic statistics at the ONS, noted that computer programming was a significant contributor to services growth, with businesses involved in AI and related technologies driving this sector's expansion.
