UK Economy to Remain Stuck in Neutral
The UK economy is expected to remain sluggish, growing at just over 1% in both 2026 and 2027 before reaching 1.3% in 2028, according to the British Chambers of Commerce (BCC).
This forecast comes despite a slight revision upwards from the BCC's initial prediction of 0.9% growth in 2026.
The BCC attributes this lackluster performance to high costs, weak business investment, and sluggish exports.
Business investment is expected to contract by 0.2% in 2026 before growing just 0.4% and then 1.2% in the following years.
