UK Mortgage Approvals Bounce Back in June

UK mortgage approvals showed signs of recovery in June, according to Bank of England data released on Wednesday. The number of home loans approved by banks and building societies rose to 58,200 after plummeting to its lowest level in over two years in May. This increase was higher than the expected 57,100, but still below the six-month average of 61,435.

Despite this recovery, economists may be cautious about reading too much into these numbers, given the current economic uncertainty and rising borrowing costs. The housing market has been impacted by various factors, including political turbulence.

The Bank of England data provides a snapshot of the UK's mortgage market, which is closely watched by economists and investors for signs of growth or decline.
