Ukraine Central Bank Raises Exchange Rates as Euro Surges

The National Bank of Ukraine has set new official exchange rates for Monday, August 17. The euro made a sharper move ahead of the trading week, while the government's budget assumptions point to continued attention on the dollar.

Compared with the rates on August 14, both the U.S. dollar and the euro have risen in value. The official exchange rates for August 17 are as follows: UAH 44.70 for the U.S. dollar, up by 1 kopeck from UAH 44.69 on August 14; and UAH 51.70 for the euro, 15 kopecks higher than the previous rate of UAH 51.55.

The government's draft state budget for 2026 projects an average annual exchange rate at UAH 45.6 per U.S. dollar.
