The National Bank of Ukraine has set new official exchange rates for the hryvnia against the US dollar and euro. As of August 28, one US dollar is valued at UAH 44.54, down from UAH 44.57 on August 27. Meanwhile, the euro's value decreased to UAH 51.85, a decrease of 15 kopecks.

These new rates are part of a larger trend where the hryvnia has gained ground against both major currencies. However, it's worth noting that the government's budget assumptions for 2026 point to a different exchange-rate benchmark, with an average annual rate of UAH 45.6 per US dollar.

These fluctuations in exchange rates are being closely watched by economists and policymakers as they have significant implications for Ukraine's economy. The National Bank of Ukraine sets these official exchange rates regularly, and they serve as a reference point for various economic transactions.
