Ukraine Sets Official Exchange Rates with Minor Dollar and Euro Gains
The National Bank of Ukraine has set the official exchange rates for August 31. The hryvnia moved only slightly against major currencies, while bank and cash rates show different spreads for customers.
According to the data from the National Bank of Ukraine, the U.S. dollar gained one kopeck compared to August 28, while the euro rose by three kopecks.
The official exchange rate for the U.S. dollar is now UAH 44.55 per dollar, up from UAH 44.54 on Friday, August 28. The official euro exchange rate has been set at UAH 51.88, an increase of three kopecks from the previous day.
Bank and cash rates vary depending on the institution. For example, according to Minfin, banks buy U.S. dollars at an average rate of UAH 44.40 for purchases and sell them for UAH 44.84. In contrast, currency exchange offices offer a slightly higher rate for dollar purchases, but lower sales prices.
