Ukraine's Central Bank Lowers Official Exchange Rates Amid Government Budget Projections
The National Bank of Ukraine has adjusted its official exchange rates for the US dollar and euro. The adjustments were made on September 8, 2026, with the official hryvnia rate against major foreign currencies set at UAH 44.29 per US dollar and UAH 51.48 per euro.
The new rates represent a decline of 27 kopecks for the US dollar and 30 kopecks for the euro compared to the previous day's rates. This move follows a series of adjustments in recent days, with the bank lowering the official dollar rate to UAH 44.52 hryvnias and the euro rate to UAH 51.63 hryvnias on September 1.
Interestingly, the government's budget planning points to a different exchange-rate benchmark, projecting an average annual hryvnia exchange rate of UAH 45.6 per US dollar for 2026.
