UOB Sees Yuan Trading in Range With Bullish Bias Against Dollar
Financial analysts at United Overseas Bank (UOB) Group expect the Chinese yuan to trade within a defined range against the US dollar, with a slight bullish bias. The USD/CNH pair has been consolidating after a period of volatility and is currently supported by strong economic data and capital flows.
The UOB forecast identifies key levels for traders and investors to watch: support at 7.1200 and stronger support at 7.1000, as well as resistance at 7.1500 with a break above potentially leading to further gains toward 7.1650.
For businesses with exposure to China, this range-bound outlook offers predictability for hedging decisions. However, the slight bullish bias on the dollar means that importers of Chinese goods may see slightly higher costs if the yuan weakens further, while exporters to China could benefit from a more competitive yuan.
