Senior officials from major financial regulatory agencies in the US and UK met for a tabletop exercise on September 3, 2026, to discuss hypothetical scenarios involving central counterparty resolution. The meeting was part of a series of regular senior-level meetings held since 2017 to share views and review progress on CCP resolution.

The agencies, which included the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC), Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC), Federal Reserve Board, and Bank of England, aimed to facilitate a dialogue between UK and US authorities. They reviewed joint work undertaken by the agencies, particularly on information sharing and communications arrangements for financial stability in case of a CCP resolution.

Participants acknowledged the importance of continuing to share analyses and discuss policy formulation related to CCP resolution. This meeting was one of several regular tabletop exercises held to address potential issues and improve coordination between regulatory bodies.
