US Bails Out Japan as Dollar System Teeters on Brink
US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent intervened in the foreign exchange market to prop up Japan's currency, the yen. This was done to stabilize the global economy and support the US dollar-based financial system.
Bessent, a former hedge fund manager from Wall Street, worked with billionaire oligarch George Soros, who made over $1 billion by shorting the British pound in 1992. Bessent's vested interest in propping up the dollar-based system is evident, as he has hundreds of millions of dollars of wealth.
Japan plays a crucial role in the US empire, hosting more US bases than any other country and providing significant financial support by holding $1.24 trillion in US Treasuries. However, Japan recently reduced its Treasury holdings due to the global energy crisis triggered by the US war on Iran.
