The US Consumer Price Index (CPI) rose by 0.4% in November, matching the median estimate of economists.
This increase was largely driven by a jump in energy prices, with the energy index rising 3.9% and gasoline increasing 7.3%.
The core gauge, which excludes food and energy costs, however, showed an unexpected cooling, increasing only 0.1% from October and 1.7% from a year earlier.
