US Dollar Fades Against Swiss Franc on Weakened Rate Hike Expectations

The US Dollar (USD) has fallen against the Swiss Franc (CHF), with the USD/CHF pair depreciating to around 0.8120 on Wednesday.

This decline follows a weak US retail sales report and cooling inflation figures, which have reduced expectations of a rate hike in September from 47% to 35%, according to the CME FedWatch tool.

The Swiss National Bank (SNB) maintained its policy rate at 0% during its latest meeting and is expected to hold interest rates at this level through 2027, treating any further rate cuts as a contingency rather than the baseline path.
