US Dollar Gains Strength as France's Budget Battle Complicates Euro Outlook

The US Dollar has held its gains against the Euro as analysts from Rabobank argue that concerns over American debt are overstated. They point to fiscal problems facing alternative investments, such as France's budget battle ahead of the 2027 presidential election.

Rabobank believes that investors may retain US assets due to concerns about European debt. The bank notes that despite rising oil prices and inflation concerns, bond yields have not been contained by the Treasury's buyback operation.

The forecast suggests that the Euro-Dollar rate will stay near 1.16 over one to three months. This is based on Rabobank's view that dollar debasement fears are 'overdone.'
