US Dollar Index Speculators Boost Long Positions Amid Market Optimism
The Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) has released its latest Commitment of Traders (COT) data, showing that large currency speculators in US dollar futures have increased their net long position. According to the report, non-commercial futures contracts of US dollar index futures traded by large speculators and hedge funds totaled a net long position of 17,604 contracts through September 8, 2026.
This marks an increase of 579 net positions compared to the previous week. The COT data provides insight into market sentiment and positioning among large traders. A higher net long position suggests that these speculators are optimistic about the US dollar's future performance.
