US Dollar Slumps on Paused Iran Bombings, Oil Prices Plummet
The US dollar declined against major peers in Asian trading on Monday after the US paused its bombing campaign in Iran over the weekend.
This move prompted a drop in oil prices and boosted global investor confidence, causing the dollar to slump.
Against the yen, the US dollar dropped 0.2% to 163.585 yen, its largest decline since July 10.
The euro rose by 0.3% to $1.1403, while the British pound gained 0.2% to $1.3352.
