US Dollar Speculator Longs Continue Downward Slide
Large currency speculators in US dollar futures have continued to slide, according to the latest Commitment of Traders (COT) data released by the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC). The non-commercial futures contracts of US dollar index futures, traded by large speculators and hedge funds, totaled a net long position of 17025 contracts in the data reported through September 01, 2026. This marks a decrease of 1657 net positions compared to the previous week.
The CFTC's COT report provides insight into market sentiment among large traders. The data shows that these speculators have been reducing their long positions in US dollar index futures over recent weeks. The decline in speculative longs is significant, as it indicates a shift in market sentiment towards reduced optimism about the US dollar.
It's worth noting that the COT report only provides a snapshot of market sentiment at a particular point in time and may not necessarily predict future price movements.
