US Dollar Surges Against Iraqi Dinar on Weekend Trading
The US dollar saw an increase in value against the Iraqi Dinar on Saturday morning, August 29, 2026, at weekly trading sessions in Baghdad and Erbil.
In Baghdad, wholesale bourses opened higher compared to Thursday's closing levels, driving parallel retail pricing across exchange houses. The wholesale bourse rate rose to 154,000 IQD per $100 USD, while the local retail selling price was 154,500 IQD.
The Central Bank of Iraq's official benchmark rate remains at 131,000 IQD per $100 (1,310 IQD per $1 USD), with a persistent spread above it. Trading across retail currency exchange shops reflected the wholesale increase, offering cash dollars at 154,500 IQD per $100 in Baghdad.
