US Economy Expands Modestly Amid Inflation Concerns
The US economy has continued to expand at a modest pace, according to a recent report by the Federal Reserve Board. Ten of the 12 districts reported slight to moderate economic growth since early July, while two remained unchanged.
Employment edged up overall, but labour markets were largely flat in many regions. Wage growth was modest to moderate, with stronger increases seen in construction and manufacturing sectors, where demand for skilled workers remains high.
American consumers continued to spend, despite growing price sensitivity. However, demand for high-end goods remained strong. Auto sales remained sluggish due to weak consumer confidence, high fuel prices, and rising financing costs. Tourism, on the other hand, gained momentum, with airlines reporting strong demand despite higher fares.
