US Economy Sees Strong August with 162,000 New Jobs Added
The US economy has shown signs of recovery in August, with nonfarm payrolls jumping by 162,000. This beats forecasts and is a positive sign after a summer slowdown.
The unemployment rate remains unchanged at 4.1%, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics. The nonfarm payroll is a key indicator of the US job market's health, excluding employees in farming, private households, non-profit organizations, and active duty service members.
The previous months' numbers were revised upward: July's gain was increased to 21,000 jobs, turning positive after an initial loss of 23,000. June's employment figures were also revised up, showing a gain of 31,000 jobs.
