US Economy Stalls Amidst Global Uncertainty
The US economy is facing a complex situation, with slow GDP growth at 1.5%, long-term interest rates at their peak for the year, and federal debt at an all-time high.
CPI inflation continues to rise at 3.4%, while food services and drinking places are leading employment growth with 59,000 new hires in August.
The situation is further complicated by a potential war with Iran, the expansion of the federal government's role in state-owned production, and deportation of over one million immigrants, including approximately 400 from each of the two Carolinas per month.
President Trump has also threatened to place embargoes on countries that run a US trade deficit unless interest rates are cut at the next Federal Reserve meeting.
